Our Month of June

June was such a fun month here at Fishbone! We started out by having a popcorn and pajamas party where all the kids came in their PJs and watched The Lorax together. Our movie party ended by transforming into a dance party and we had music and lots of fun!

We also had princess camp and soccer camp which both turned out to be awesome! We are so thankful for each of our volunteers that came to make these days possible.

The girls at princess camp spent their three days learning how to be a proper princess. After all, they are daughters of the King! They learned about kindness, beauty, and loyalty and had fun painting nails, putting on a fashion show, and having a tea party!

The boys (and a few girls) had an absolute BLAST at soccer camp. They waited in anticipation every single day for Mr. Sam to arrive and start the day with them. They learned drills and played games and spent time learning and growing.

We also had the opportunity to bring in a mission trip from Midland, Michigan. They helped us continue in the changes we have been pursuing in the Brown House. If you want to see all of the amazing changes happening, we suggest you come on over and check it out! Miss Trish and Miss Courtney have been hard at work transforming the inside of the house as well.

This month, we started a 10 week VBS style curriculum called Weird Animals. We've been able to incorporate our teens in helping out with this summer and it has been fun and interesting to watch them change into their leadership roles.

Each week, we are feeding and teaching around 60 to 70 kids at Fishbone. When fall and winter come around, we are not going to have enough room to comfortably feed and fit everyone in the Brown House. That is why we are currently planning a two story, 20x30 addition to the back of the house. We ask for your prayers that we would receive supplies and the help to build this addition before the end of summer. We also ask that you would pray for the hearts of our volunteers to continue to love and teach the kids and that the kids hearts would be open to learn and understand all that God has for them.
